About Red Spot
Redspot Car Rentals was established in 1989 and is Australian owned and operated. Redspot was the first Australian rental car company to operate at all Sydney airport terminals and offers the latest in proprietary online technology for trade and consumer bookings. Redspot is affiliated with Advantage Rent A Car in the USA and is an official supplier to the NSW state government.
The Team
The Redspot team are young, enthusiastic, friendly and approachable. They are carefully selected and specifically trained to ensure at all times the customer’s needs are exceeded. The Redspot team undergoes regular training in all aspects of customer service and are well informed and knowledgeable.
The Fleet
Redspot operates a fleet of over 800 of the latest model vehicles ranging from small, medium and large sedans, convertible 4WD’s and 4WD wagons, minibuses and commercial vehicles. Redspot carefully selects its fleet to satisfy demand and is quick to recognize and introduce new models with clever or innovative designs and features. Red Spot welcomes customer feedback and reacts to customer suggestions of desirable new models when considering vehicles for its rental fleet.
Redspot regularly updates its fleet, the average age of its vehicles being just six months. Redspot's fleet is well maintained and covered by 24hr – 7 day a week roadside assistance Australia wide. Most of the Redspot fleet includes standard features such as power steering, air conditioning and secure central locking devices. Red Spot engages professional detailers to clean inspect and prepare its vehicles for rental.
Red Spot Car Rentals AU rental terms Vehicle Collection
You must present a valid driver’s license at the time of rental. Red Spot accepts probationary licenses issued by States and Territories of Australia. If your driver’s license does not include a photo you will be required to provide alternative photo identification. You do not have to present your International Drivers License, provided your license of origin is clearly valid and recogniseable as an authentic driver’s license.
Insurance
When you rent a vehicle from Red Spot it is comprehensively insured and meets all registration and roadworthy standards required by Australian State and Federal legislation. When renting a Red Spot vehicle you have a liability for damage to and/or theft of the vehicle and/or damage to third party property of $3,300 (Standard Liability), which may be reduced to $330 or $0 by purchasing a Liability Reduction Package from Red Spot.
Loss or Damage Liability Reduction
This optional service is available on collection of the vehicle. it reduces the damage excess from $3300 to $330 or $0 depending on the level of coverage selected.
Personal Injury
Red Spot maintains a Compulsory Third Party (CTP) Insurance Policy in each State of Australia. This covers personal injury to the driver (when not at fault), passengers of the insured vehicle and any third party. In the event of a claim Red Spot will advise you of the CTP insurer for that vehicle.
Additional Drivers
Red Spot allows as many additional drivers to drive the vehicle as are requested. Each driver must present a valid drivers licence to Red Spot before being allowed to drive the vehicle. A fee per day applies for additional drivers.
Young Drivers.
The minimum age is 21 for CCAR and 25 for all other vehicle groups. Drivers between 21 and 24 years of age inclusive are required to pay a daily surcharge - please select this from the 'extras' section when making your booking (this is a compulsory fee and if it is not selected the surcharge will automatically be added to your final balance payable directly to the supplier). Young drivers may only drive CCAR class vehicles.

Satellite Navigation
Portable satellite navigation systems are available for rental with Red Spot vehicles. The units are supplied with cradles to fix to the windscreen of the vehicle and charging units for the batteries. The units are available at all locations subject to availability.
Toll Road Passes
Australia has a significant number of toll roads in particular in Sydney and Melbourne many of which do not have manned tollbooths. Tolls vary dependent on the road used and length of the journey. Red Spot is able to provide its customers with an electronic toll pass for the vehicle, which can be used to pay the toll on all toll roads in Australia.
Satellite Navigation and Toll Road Pass Package
For customers wanting to take advantage of both the satellite navigation and toll road pass option Red Spot has a special offer which is detailed at the time of booking.
Baby/Booster Seats
Red Spot can provide baby/booster seats for any vehicle on its fleet for the period of the hire per baby/booster seat. The customer is responsible for the fitting of the seat.
Highway Helpers
All Red Spot vehicles are covered by 24-hour roadside assistance. However for complete peace of mind Red Spot has introduced Highway Helpers which enhances this service to include those times when the problem is more human than mechanical like losing the vehicle keys, running out of petrol or leaving the lights on and getting a flat battery. Red Spot staff can provide a full breakdown of the services benefits.
Area of Use
Vehicles may be driven in Queensland, New South Wales, the Australian Capital Territory, Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania. Vehicles rented in Western Australia may only be driven in Western Australia. Vehicles may not be driven in the Northern Territory no matter where they are rented. Vehicles must be driven on properly formed roads at all times and may not be driven on unsealed surfaces.
Western Australia: Vehicles may only be driven in Western Australia and are not allowed to travel further north than Exmouth (21°55′59″S 114°07′41″E) and no further east than Esperance (33°51′40″S 121°53′31″E) and Kalgoorlie (30°44′56″S 121°27′58″E). Queensland: It is prohibited to drive either further north then Cape Tribulation (16˚4’ 60S 145˚28’ 60E) in a westerly direction beyond Chillagoe (17˚09’S 144˚31’E) and George Town (18.298˚S 143.54˚E). Vehicles are not permitted to travel along the ‘Bloomfield Track’ Coastal route between Cape Tribulation and Cooktown (15˚28’S 145˚ 17E). Any travel outside of the permitted areas is strictly prohibited and will void all insurance cover.
No Smoking
No smoking inside the vehicles at all time.
Charges
Charges are calculated and payment collected at the time of vehicle collection. Red Spot accepts all major credit cards. A fee of 4% of the total rental charges applies to rentals settled by American Express or Diners Club. No fee applies to rentals settled by Visa or Mastercard. No refunds are given for vehicles returned early.
Flight Delays
At airport locations Red Spot will hold vehicles when flights are delayed provided the flight number has been given. Vehicles will be released if not collected 30 minutes after flights have cleared.
At city locations vehicles will be held for one hour after the nominated collection time.
NB: Please provide at least 24 hours notice if you wish to cancel your booking.

The rental agreement is between you and the supplier and we will not be liable to you or to any third party in relation to the terms of the supplier's rental agreement or any other documentation provided to you by the supplier at the time of pick up.
While we will make reasonable efforts to ensure we are representing only reputable suppliers, we make no warranty about the fitness or suitability of any third party (supplier) product or service and will not accept responsibility for the quality or fitness of any vehicle. We welcome feedback from our customers on their experience with our suppliers. We may, at our discretion, provide you with reasonable assistance in resolving any dispute you may have with a supplier.
Our total liability to you in relation to your use of this website and the information contained on this website will not exceed the dollar amount of the deposit we have received from you in relation to your booking/rental. Refunds will not be made for bookings cancelled due to inclement weather. Again, we strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance. Your use of this website is governed by the laws of New Zealand and the jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.

To make a booking you must complete our booking form which is easy to follow and secured with the latest encryption technology. Once we receive your form, we will, subject to availability, confirm your booking by emailing you a confirmation voucher and invoice.
If you are booking via phone, please make sure you have read the terms and conditions of the vehicle you wish to rent first. Our reservations consultant will ask you if you have read the terms and agree to them before proceeding. The onus is always on the renter to ensure they make themselves fully aware of the terms displayed on our website.

It is your responsibility to choose a journey that is within your capabilities. A vehicle supplier can refuse to rent a vehicle to any person who is in their opinion unfit to drive or does not meet eligibility requirements. In such circumstances we will have no further liability to you.
